Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC)

The Butts County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC)is non-profit organization that is opened to everyone who lives and operates a business any where in Butts County.

The purpose of the LEPC is to promote and facilitate the safety of all persons in Butts County with respect to the potential exposure and / or threat of major emergencies and disasters both natural and man-made.

The LEPC shall be instrumental in fulfilling the purpose of the Community Right to Know Act to increase the protection of the community from exposure to chemicals produced, used, stored, and/or transported within Butts County.

The mission of the LEPC is to " exists to promote and maintain public health and safety by preparing citizens, industries, and emergency response agencies for all-hazards emergency situation.
